PHP and XDebug
Java was the very first programming language I ever learned. May be it’s the reason every today I gravitate towards languages with similar syntax. However I’m not here to tell you about my lover towards different programming languages. But provide a handy tip if you are a PHP developer. Unfortunately if you are not a PHP developer you will you should probably consider going back you watching cat videos 😉
But if you are a PHP developer like me most of the time you should be looking in to XDebug. Xdebug is a PHP extension which provides debugging and profiling capabilities. If you are a PHP developer and if you haven’t heard about this before I know your jaw will drop. Yes this is true. XDebug will not work well as well as those fancy .NET or Java debuggers but this make the life lot more easier for us PHP developers.
I’m quite surprised that I did not know all this time but better late than never. I will not cover how to set it up and run it but you should be able to find plenty of resources on that. You should be able to set it up with Netbeans or Eclipes and you should be good to go.
